  • Sarah Koopmans - Thanks, Wendy!ReplyCancel

  • Heather - I have always wanted to work in a rural diner. The allure for me is getting to know the neighbours. I live in Toronto and it is an extremely cold environment. Gone are the days when we knew our local butcher or hardware salesperson. There is no main street. Everything is a short car ride away.
How enchanting it would be to actually walk down a main street and greet someone, anyone.
When you review towns, are there any that stand out in your mind as a perfect spot to retire to.
    Thank you

    • Sarah Koopmans - Good question, Heather! We have our favourites, for sure. We’re from Huron County, and I think there’s a part of us that would like to retire there… but Almonte is a lovely town. Or Port Hope (Farley Mowat lived there in his retirement!)…

We can ask our followers what they think too!ReplyCancel

  • Morley Sniderman - Hi, My name is Morley Sniderman and my wife Pat and I have a luxury cottage rental business in the Muskoka/Parry Sound area. I have just retired from Xerox after 33 years and have a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo and love building Log Homes and renting them out. This is a very “happy” business and we provide the ultimate in luxury in a beautiful setting for families to enjoy being together and sharing those special times. My daughter, Laura Sniderman has created The Aerie website: http://www.theaerie.co where she promotes health and wellness. She just had a Yoga retreat at our cottages and people came from all across North America to attend. Your concept of promoting and blogging about Ruralism is fantastic and thank you for posting one of our cottages on your website. Take care, Morley Sniderman. 416-7905-0155ReplyCancel
